Long-context coding agents are a new kind of rubber duck

Spent the weekend pairing with Claude on a refactor.

The thing that keeps surprising me is how much of the value comes from being forced to articulate what I’m trying to do, out loud. Half the bugs got found before any code was written.

Maybe the real productivity gain isn’t the AI — it’s the rubber duck that talks back.
